Great BBQ in the heart of the Texas Hill Country
For nearly a decade, Old 300 BBQ has been serving genuine Texas BBQ to thousands of visitors, seven days a week, in the heart of the Hill Country.
Whether you’re a Blanco resident looking for a great lunch or dinner, or a Texas BBQ fan from around the country - or world - we invite you to visit us next time you are in the Texas hill country. Old 300 BBQ sits right next to the historic Blanco County Courthouse, on the northeast corner of Pecan and 4th Street in the heart of downtown Blanco.
Blanco is a small, charming town of about 2,000 people, roughly 50 miles west of Austin along US-281. The town sits along the banks of the beautiful Blanco River and serves as the county seat of Blanco County. It's a favorite stop for Hill Country road trippers, wine trail visitors, and cyclists exploring the back roads between Austin, Fredericksburg, and Wimberley.
When you visit, you'll find plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, including our shaded front porch where you can enjoy live music on weekends. Out back, The Back 40 Event Center features a full dance hall and bar - perfect for private events, corporate gatherings, and live entertainment. There's plenty of parking right on the square, and the laid-back atmosphere means you're welcome to take your time and enjoy the Hill Country breeze.
Our promise to you, our customer, is to serve you the absolute best Texas Hill Country BBQ. On behalf of our pitmaster, Ladd Pepper, please relax, have a beverage, be yourself, and enjoy our food. All our food is handmade and is the best food we know how to make. And, trust us, that know-how is based on years of experience, quality, and good old-fashioned hard work.

What Guests Say About Our Restaurant
Try the banana pudding.
I just celebrated my 60th Birthday and we had the party @ Blanco State Park. Since I’ve been @ Old 300 plenty of times, I knew they would be the one to call! Shelly was on it took our order and was on time delivering. As usual the food was amazing. Most of my friends were from San Antonio or Austin so they’ve never had it….Until yesterday….they loved it. The brisket was juicy the chicken was well seasoned. The Mac and cheese didn’t stand a chance. ( still have a 2nd pan) lol Some say they will make the drive to visit and eat there. Thanks so much Shelly for your service and promptness. Apologies for not taking pics of the food…..my people were HUNGRY lol!!!
Truly delicious! It was fast & friendly. We loved the history and atmosphere
Chopped sammich was really good, green beans were bit too salty and coleslaw was ok.
I had 1 rib the size of my arm. Best rib(s) I've ever had. Amazing.
I was im blanco tx fishing at blanco state park when I got hungry. Found this place Old 300 BBQ. Mo complaints from here except one thing the fries. The fries taste like everywhere else. I got the chopped brisket sandwich which was excellent, got cream corn also excellent, and the regular sausage again excellent. Other than the fries great atmosphere. The staff is welcoming and treats you like family. The lady who was taking orders asked if i knew where all the fixings are i told her no this is my first time and she said well welcome. Im sure this is a mom and pop restaurant. When im back this way I will definitely be stopping by again. Sorry about the fries
We visited for the first time and we were impressed. Ordered turkey and chicken with side of okra and the turkey was moist and delicious. The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It’s a small place and had to wait a minute for a table but other than that everything was great. Will definitely be back to try the brisket.
